Over the last several days we have continued our efforts throughout this community in multiple ways. Bible Clubs began with approximately 18 children from the community. We fed them and their families lunch. On Wednesday we gave away almost 50 bags with school supplies and provided a wellness clinic. There were several salvations and we were able to build many relationships. We saw several of the families return Wednesday night for movie night. Although due to the language barrier it was difficult to follow up for salvation counts with many of the adults. There were at least four, who despite interruptions from their children, remained for the entire film and sat watching intently during the salvation message.

Work at the Palma home continues. It is going great and looking fantastic! The roof is complete, electrical work is finished and we even have the house painted. They are laying the flooring this very minute and the team is planning to move in furniture later this afternoon!

Basketball clinics finished up on Tuesday. It was very well attended with a total of about 38 students. Praise the Lord with us for 11 salvations!

God has blessed our efforts here! We are getting total salvation counts and look forward to share with you more details Sunday.

Day Three

All missions week voluntaries spread throughout the church in positions of service, teaching in the children’s classes, serving at the door, greeting, running the video room and helping in the kitchen. Sharing our hearts in song and testimony and then helping serve the meal at lunch. Then there was clean up and preparing for basketball clinic and bible clubs for the week.
We were treated out to an evening of fun in Brick Town, riding the canal with our stand up comedian/boat driver. Then a relaxing dinner and back to the church for more planning and set up for tomorrow.
There were praise reports of two salvations today. One is Brandon Palma in Sunday school class this morning and the second was the son of the Superintendent of the Santa Fe South Schools. He called and reported to Greg Werner that one of our team members had shared the gospel with him on Friday and he received Christ as his Savior.
We are praising God for adding saints.

Day Two

After very quick showers and a restful night we started today with hope and expectations. Around 20 adults arrived right after breakfast and broke into our teams and parted for the day.
Team #1 headed over to the Palma’s house to begin tearing off the roof, preparing to paint, blow in insulation, tear out kitchen and bathroom to prepare to rebuild and finish moving out furniture. They were able to accomplish all, and more.

There was a concern about the weather the night before with a forecast of 80% thunderstorms. God is the master of the weather though, and parted the storm and it went around OKC. Jehovah Jireh-God is our Provider!

Team #2 went to the Elementary school and began working on the flowerbeds and picking up trash and grounds work on around a 3 acre plot.

Michelle Manis’s ring was found in the parking lot and returned to her to her surprise. She hadn’t missed it yet, and was very grateful. There was also a lost wallet that was found. Jehovah Nissi-God is our victory!
Team #3 went out into the neighboring community to our bible club contacts with invitations to the programs that we are holding at church all week. About half responded favorably. Tim Huskey and Sandy Rushing were able to pray with a grandmother to one of the bible club children that buried her adult son the day before. Jehovah Rophe- God is our Healer!
What a wonderful day of answered prayers and His provision for strength and opportunities for his kingdom.

Day One

Missions Week had great start, with prayer and worship, and training. Brandon led worship and training on the evangecube, which is a tool to share the gospel. From there we all split up into teams and went to the communities schools.
The team at the Elementary school practiced evangelism and developed more confidence in sharing their faith. Brandon shared with one family and they all prayed to receive Christ. We passed out 300 backpacks with invitations to all the events of the week here at church. Kannon Manis shared with a young boy with the evangelcube and the young boy turned around and shared with his 3 year old brother. The Middle school team was able to reach over 1000 people with invitations to our basketball clinic and bible clubs. At the High school we served over 1500 hot dogs, and spent the evening serving the school. We were able to sign up 39 for the basketball clinic that Pastor Wells will lead on Sunday and Monday.
During the evening we received word that the Manis house was being broken into. A group stopped and prayed that the burglar would get scared and run away. God answers prayer and that is exactly what happened.
We are seeing God working in great and mighty ways. He is working in us and thru us and we even see him control the weather for His good work.
Please continue to pray for this mission and for our alertness and strengthen to continue this work.
In His service, the 2009 Missions team
